ASE Group of Companies and SAP establish a Centre of Competence for Engineering Automation

19.06.2017
ASE Group of Companies and SAP signed a memorandum about cooperation in the area of the lifecycle management of nuclear power facilities as part of the international ATOMEXPO 2017 Forum.
According to this document, ASE Group of Companies and its partner SAP will establish a Centre of Competence for Engineering Automation. The future Centre will aim mainly to implement such technologies as asset lifecycle management, computer-aided training, big data analytics into the process of the capital construction of NPP and other capital construction facilities.

All the mentioned technologies are united by the concept of digital NPP which focuses on the unified information space to manage the NPP lifecycle from the stage of construction until decommissioning. All the data about the progress of design, construction and later operation are stored in connection with 3D-model and updated on-line based on the information from line-of-business applications and other systems.
In order to implement the idea of digital NPP into future projects, the Centre of competences plan to develop its own IT-solution based on SAP HANA - “Centre of NPP construction management in RF and abroad”.
“ Last year, we talked about the Rosatom capital construction projects in Russia being supported by SAP S/4 HANA, but nowadays we talk about the partnership on the global market. “The SAP team feels so privileged to contribute to the export of Russian nuclear technologies”, Natalia Parmenova, Executive Director of SAP CIS pointed out while signing the memorandum.
Moreover, the SAP technologies will help ASE Group of companies to manage the logistics of NPPs under construction: purchase, transport and store building materials and equipment by reducing costs; make accurate forecasting in terms of construction deadlines and costs.
Valery Limarenko, President of ASE Group of companies pointed out that the digitally-based NPP designing has been applied for several years. As part of the Centre of SAP competences, key IT-specialists and engineers will generate a database including the digital NPP and prospective business-models. Owing to their developments, ASE Group of Companies will obtain a knowledge asset to help achieve our main objectives, such as: extension of foreign projects, tripling of the rated capacity by 2040-2045, building of innovative business models. After 2020, up to 10% of the income from new business lines will be provided with digital NPP services, Valery Limarenko assured.
