Representatives of ASE (Engineering Division of Rosatom State Corporation) as part of the Rosatom national team won three gold awards in the V National Championship of the through-work professions of high-tech industry called WorldSkills Hi-Tech-2018.
Rosatom became the absolute winner of the championship, having received 16 gold medals in 20 competencies.
Engineering Division was represented by 22 participants and experts who fought for the victory in four competences: “Welding technology”, “Non-destructive testing”, “Life cycle management” and “Engineering”.
Vladislav Astapov, the 6th category NDT specialist from PJSC “Energospetsmontazh” won Grand Prix in the competence of “Non-destructive testing” with the support of Dmitry Maximov, an expert and tutor, the head of the laboratory of PJSC ESM in the Republic of Belarus. In August of this year, they won a golden award at Atomskills-2018 in the city of Yekaterinburg.
The golden award in the nomination “Engineering” was won by Vladimir Vasilenko, engineer of the metal structures department of Design Bureau-2, JSC Atomenergoproekt and Alexander Vinokurov, engineer of the second category, working in the department for design of NPP common station buildings and structures of Design Bureau-3 JSC ASE, (expert — Andrei Folvarchuk, chief specialist of Design Bureau −3, JSC ASE EC).
Grigory Korkishko, leading economist of JSC ASE EC won gold medal in the nomination “Life Cycle Management” as a member of the Rosatom team.
Silver award in the nomination “Welding technology” was won by Ivan Lokotkov, the 6th category welder of PJSC “Energospetsmontazh” (expert — Anton Afrin, 6th category welder of PJSC “Energospetsmontazh”).
Viktor Korobeinikov, who played for Atomenergomash in Rosatom team has become the absolute champion of the tournament. He was awarded a money prize of 1 million rubles from the Industry Development Fund, which is awarded to the welders for the third time.

This victory is another proof of the fact that specialists of the highest level of professionalism work in the Engineering Division and these specialists can resolve the most complicated tasks for the successful implementation of foreign and Russian Projects“,-told Mr. Valery Limarenko, Head of Rosatom Engineering Division.
The tournament was organized from 24th till 27th October in the city of Yekaterinburg. Thirty-six teams of the largest Russian state corporations and leaders of the national industry competed in 40 disciplines at the international exhibition center “Yekateringburg-Expo”. This year, 597 contestants and over 450 experienced Russian and foreign foremen experts participated in WorldSkills Hi-Tech.
For reference: WorldSkills International (WSI) is an international non-profit association whose goal is to improve the status and standards of training and qualifications around the world. WSI is existing since 1946, its founders set ambitious goals: to motivate young people to compete, to wake up their enthusiasm for the development of working professions, as well as to compare the skills and abilities of people from different countries. Russia was officially admitted to the international organization on May 17, 2012 in the course of regular WSI General Assembly in South Korea.
