Employees of Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission studied the best practices of communication with ASE JSC.

21.06.2019
Representatives of Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission Mr. Ahmed Saikat and Mrs. Begum Asma visited Nizhny Novgorod from 18 to 21 June, 2019 in the framework of joint international educational program of IAEA and Rosatom Technical Academy.
The goal of the program is to increase competence in the field of nuclear energy and communication with public. ASE JSC employees ( Rosatom Engineering Division) met at the Nizhny Novgorod Information Center for Atomic Energy with colleagues from Bangladesh, where the country's most advanced nuclear power plant of generation 3+ is being built.
Mrs. Alexandra Chistyakova, Chief Specialist of the Communications Department, spoke about the concept of developing public non-financial reporting and its importance for the quality of the Annual Report in the context of public acceptability and shared experience of interaction with stakeholders.
The safety systems of modern NPPs of the Russian design were discussed at a meeting with Mr. Yury Shibanov and Mr. Nikolay Sokolov, Chief Specialists of JSC ASE EC technical department. They spoke in details about the design of the NPP, nuclear and radiation safety in the design, passive safety systems and protection from external hazards.
Representatives of Bangladesh as an agrarian country were interested in climate change issues under the influence of nuclear power plants and, in particular, increase of water temperature in the Padma river, where the NPP is being constructed now.
Therefore, ASE specialists focused on the main factors related to NPP impact on the environment as well as on the cooling system and reducing the heat load on the cooling pond.
For reference:
ASE (Rosatom State Corporation Engineering Division) was established by means of integration of the leading companies of the industry: ASE EC JSC (Nizhny Novgorod), Atomstroyexport JSC (Moscow), Atomenergoproekt JSC (Moscow) and ATOMPROEKT JSC (St.-Petersburg).
ASE is one of the global leaders in nuclear power engineering holding about 30% of the global NPP construction market. Engineering Division carries out its activities in Europe, Middle East and Northern Africa as well as in the Asia-Pacific region.
80% of the portfolio include foreign projects.
It implements design and construction projects for high-power NPPs, renders a full range of EPC, EPC(M) services and develops Multi-D technologies for management of complex engineering facilities. The Engineering Division rests upon the 50-year experience of the Russian nuclear power industry and state-of-the-art innovation technologies.
We construct reliable and safe NPPs with 3+Gen VVER reactors that are in line with all international requirements and recommendations.
