Hungarian delegation visiting Belarus NPP

25.06.2019
The Hungarian delegation headed by Mr. János Süli, Minister without Portfolio for maintaining the capacity of the Paks NPP paid a working visit to the Belarus NPP on June 24, 2019. Hungarian experts take interest in construction of the NPP in Belarus due to the fact that the Paks-2 NPP units are expected to be built based on Russian NPP design equipped with Gen 3+VVER reactor. The Belarus experience related to organizational issues can be used by the Hungarian party.

During the visit, the Hungarian experts witnessed the process of NPP construction and held working meeting with representatives of the Belarus NPP management and JSC ASE Engineering Company which is part of the Rosatom State Corporation Engineering Division that is the General Designer and the General Contractor of NPP construction. They discussed questions related to workforce, and accommodation of builders during the main stage of the NPP construction. The guests were informed about the Belarus NPP experience on infrastructure construction for NPP builders and NPP service personnel in Ostrovets where currently residential areas, recreation and welfare facilities are being constructed. The delegates visited the NPP training centre where operational personnel of Power Unit 1are trained.

The Belarus party has a vast experience in providing of living conditions necessary for the successful work at such an important facility as an NPP; taking into account the comparability of the scales of construction it can be used in the organization procedure of works at Paks-2 NPP, Mr. Janos Süli added.

The Belarus NPP equipped with 2 VVER-1200 reactors making 2400 MW in total is being constructed according to the Russian 3+ generation design that fully complies with the safety related international standards and recommendations of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

For reference:
ASE (Rosatom State Corporation Engineering Division) was established by integration of the leading companies of the industry: JSC ASE EC (Nizhny Novgorod), JSC Atomstroyexport (Moscow), JSC Atomenergoproekt (Moscow) and JSC Atomproekt (St-Petersburg).
ASE is one of the leaders in the global nuclear power engineering business holding about 30% of the global NPP construction market. Engineering Division carries out its activities in Europe, Middle East and Northern Africa as well as in the Asia-Pacific region.
80% of the portfolio include foreign projects.
It implements design and construction projects for high-power NPPs, renders a full range of EPC, EPC(M) services and develops Multi-D technologies for management of complex engineering facilities.

The Engineering Division rests upon the 50-year experience of the Russian nuclear power industry and state-of-the-art innovation technologies.
We construct reliable and safe NPPs with 3+Gen VVER reactors that are in line with all international requirements and recommendations.
