The Engineering Division has developed AtomSkills Standard competence standards.

19.08.2020
The Rosatom State Corporation Engineering Division has completed the development of competence standards for applicants for job vacancies at foreign construction sites. These standards are called AtomSkills Standard which will be used to confirm the qualifications of applicants.
Competence standards have been developed for welders, fitters, formwork installers and concrete workers based on the Rostechnadzor requirements for workers in these occupations. To assess compliance with the specified requirements, the principles used in the AtomSkills industry competition, that is conducted according to the WorldSkills methodology, were selected.
“These are absolutely realistic documents. They list specific requirements for the professional competence of a person applying for a job at our foreign construction sites. All parameters important for us are regulated. For example, the thickness of the seam for the third, fourth and fifth grade welder. Applicants will be familiarized with the requirements and will have the opportunity to show their professional skills in practice, says Natalya Shafalovich, ASE EC JSC Vice President for Personnel and Internal Communications.
It is planned to confirm the professional level of the applicants in the competence centers that will be established at the NPP construction sites.
The use of Atomskills Standard will provide recruitment of qualified workers who will be able to perform high-quality civil and installation work at the Engineering Division’s foreign construction sites. The first site for the application of such standards will be the El-Dabaa NPP (Egypt).
Competency standards were developed by specialists of JSC ASE EC subsidiaries, such as: RossSEM LLC, Energospetsmontazh JSC, NIKIMT-Atomstroy JSC jointly with the Rosatom Corporate Academy ANO and the Moscow College of Architecture, Design and Reengineering No. 26. The project was initiated by the order of Alexey Likhachev, the Director General Director of the Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation as part of the works on the export of Russian construction engineering education to Rosatom partner countries.
