Rosatom State Corporation Engineering Division handed over to the Customer – Jangsu Nuclear Power Corporation Company –Tianwan NPS facilitiesof Unit 4 Nuclear Island after two-year warranty operation. The corresponding Minutes of the Meeting on the final acceptance of the Unit was signed on December 25.
“Tianwan NPS Units 3-4 is an outstanding successful project, which has now become a historical one for us. We are sincerely sad “to say good-bye” to it, but, as the Chinese say, we must look to the future. And our future are Tianwan NPS Units 7-8 and Xudapu NPS Units 3-4. And we, the Russian - Chinese team, will use our best endeavours to implement these projects successfully as well», - said Aleksey Bannik, ASE EC JSC Vice President for Projects in China.

On 07 March, 2019 a solemn ceremony of signing the General Contract for construction of Tianwan NPS Power Units 7 &8 was held in Beijing.
The documents were signed by the representatives of Rosatom State Corporation Engineering Division (ASE EC JSC) and CNNC Corporation enterprises (the People’s Republic of China).
According to the contract, the Russian Party will design the Nuclear Island of the Station and supply the main equipment of the Nuclear Island for both Units.
Tianwan NPS is the largest facility built within the framework of the Russian-Chinese economic cooperation. Start-up of Tianwan NPS Units 1, 2 was performed in 2007. The power start-up of Tianwan NPS Unit 3 was performed in December, 2017.
The cooperation in construction of the second stage - Tianwan NPS Units 3, 4 - is carried out based on the Protocol signed by the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the People's Republic of China. Tianwan NPS construction was based on the NPP-91 Russian design with VVER-1000 reactor type, which fully complies with the requirements of the up-to-date regulatory and technical documents of China, Russian Federation and IAEA. Construction of Tianwan Nuclear Power Station is being performed by Jiangsu Nuclear Power Corporation (JNPC) in cooperation with Atomstroyexport Russian Company included in ASE Group of Companies.
