On 22 July, a session on quality was held in the Engineering division via videoconference. The event was attended by top managers of Rosatom State Corporation and the Engineering Division, including representatives of the Joint Design Institute and representatives and specialists from quality structural divisions. The main goal of the session was evaluation of the parameters of the Engineering Division in the field of quality and discussion of the key decisions for development.
Addressing the participants of the session, Alexander Lokshin, President of JSC ASE EC, pointed out the importance of quality issues and the objectiveness of the decision about the introduction of the integrated management system.
The presentations of the speakers were devoted to various projects in the field of quality implemented at all stages of NPP construction — from EPC-contract conclusion up to warranty operation of power units in the operating countries. Special emphasis was made on digitalization of quality management processes.
According to Sergey Guschin, JSC ASE EC Director for Quality, the main role of the quality service is the implementation of such a system where every specialist is aware of what he shall do within the framework of the division processes and how he shall do it. “The mechanism of control that we have introduced should facilitate the timely delivery of both design products and equipment and the performance of works whose quality satisfies the customers and comply with the industry requirements. The current global situation has demonstrated that the functions for control and elimination of non-conformances should be maximally transferred to electronic systems, using, where possible, remote control mode”, underlined Mr. Guschin.
The result of the strategic session will be the approval of the decision for the division development in the field of quality in the year of 2021.
For reference: the notion of Integrated Management System (IMS) is mostly interpreted as a system complying with the requirements of three international ISO standards (9001 — quality management, 14001 — environmental management, 45001 — occupational health and safety management). The main goal of IMS in the Engineering Division is the assurance of the consistency and coordination of activities in the division companies, their focus on achieving common aims with priority of safety of the NPPs under construction.
