“Engineering Design” Industry Expertise Center, operating on the basis of Rosatom Engineering Division, proceeded to implementation of an educational project on BIM management (data-driven / digital design).
Applications for participation in the joint educational project of the Engineering Division, Nizhny Novgorod State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (NNGASU) and Nizhny Novgorod regional branch of “Russian Student Brigades” were submitted by more than 2 thousand people: students of relevant Rosatom universities, employees of the nuclear industry and representatives of companies (construction, design, etc.) from 20 countries.
A six-month online training course on “BIM Management Basics” program will allow participants to improve their skills in using specialized programs and develop professional competencies in BIM technologies.
“Participation in such projects also contributes to the personal growth of the participants. The acquisition of softskills related to communication and team interaction is also provided for by the training program. Work in the 21st century is impossible without social interaction,” said Alexei Agafonov, Director for Support and Development of Design Operations of JSC Atomenergoproekt (Rosatom State Corporation Engineering Division), Head of the Design Industry Center.
In the opinion of the university management, the training on BIM technologies became the first such large-scale project in the region in this field. “The main value of this program is that specialists of a higher level will appear in Nizhny Novgorod, with a completely new approach to the design of facilities,” emphasized Dmitry Shchegolev, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at NNGASU.
The result of the training will be the common work of all the participants – a digital copy of landmark buildings, structures and monuments of Nizhny Novgorod, which will be presented to the city on its 800th anniversary.
