The jubilee exhibition “Atomic age. 75 years of service to the people” started in Paks (Hungary) on September 25, 2020. The exhibition displays the accomplishments of the Russian nuclear industry throughout 75 years.

In the course of the opening ceremony, Alexander Khazin, senior Vice President of JSC ASE, Director of the Paks NPP construction Project, noted that the Russian nuclear power industry has followed a path of progress since the world’s first nuclear power plant launching in Obninsk in 1954.

"We are building the most advanced GenIII + power units in Paks. The Paks II NPP water-cooled VVER-1200 power Units meet the most stringent safety requirements. “In the course of design, both the Hungarian Owner’s highest standards, the EU and the Hungarian Nuclear Supervisory Authority safety requirements were taken into the utmost account”, Alexander Khazin said.

The photos displayed in Paks show the world’s quality level and global superiority of the Russian nuclear industry. “The most modern and safe power Units will be built in Paks in the coming years,” said Istvan Mittler, communications Director of Paks — II.

“The Paks-II Project known as a historical construction project in Europe” facilitates new orders for the manufacturing plants and new work places, emphasized Zoltan Santo, Deputy Head of the Paks Administration. The Project will improve the well-being of both residents of the town and the citizens of Hungary as a whole. “Specialists coming to Paks need to be integrated and supported, so that they can feel comfortable in Paks,” said Zoltan Santo.

Thermonuclear fusion plants created by Russian specialists, spacecrafts to search and receive substantial information about the Universe, unique fast neutron reactors, the world largest nuclear ice-breakers, large-scale hydraulic structures, nuclear power plants built by Rosatom abroad are open for visitors of the exhibition, including the Engineering Division employees working in Hungary, their families and Paks residents.

The exhibition will be open in the town for a month, and then move to other town in the Paks region.
