The Engineering Division's Project has been Certified for Compliance with the International Standard for Sustainable Project Management

22.02.2022
The international “BIM-management” educational and practical project that is implemented by the Engineering Design Competence Center, founded on the basis of Atomenergoproekt JSC (being a part of the Rosatom State Corporation Engineering Division), is the first nuclear enterprise to have been certified for compliance with the GPM P5 international standard for sustainable project management. The certificate has been issued by Green Project Management Global international organization, the developer of the standard, whose activities are aimed at supporting sustainable business and sustainable development goals (SDGs) for the period up to 2030.
As part of the international assessment conducted by the "Project Alliance” Project Managers Association (official representative of GPM Global in Russia and the CIS), it has been noted that the "BIM-management" project is a social and educational investment to provide for significant advantages in the development of new key competencies of the project participants. The project results being more than 800 digital models of cultural heritage sites and other iconic buildings in Nizhny Novgorod, have been handed-over to the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region to solve practical issues in the field of urban planning and development of the metropolitan area.
“The project demonstrates the Joint Design Institute and the division’s commitment to the goals of sustainable development and Strategy-2030. In addition, such projects make our institute more compelling to young professionals having sought-after skills,” said Ruben Topchiyan, Director General of JSC Atomenergoproekt.
“I am glad that in addition to the hands-on assistance to the city and individual participants, the project has helped us create a community of caring professionals (more than 2,500 people) who are able to solve issues of any complexity. The behind-the-project “Knowledge in Return for Results” concept has proved oneself, which is confirmed by modelling of another million-plus city (Yekaterinburg) within the second round,” said Alexey Agafonov, Atomenergoproekt JSC Project Manager, Director for maintenance and development of project manufacturing.
The project is implemented in collaboration with the Nizhny Novgorod State Civil Engineering University (NNGASU) and the Nizhny Novgorod “Russian Students” Team” Regional Division and Vysotsky Consulting Company supported by the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Ministry of Urban Planning and Development of Metropolitan Area, Autodesk, Renga Software, Lumion, Graphisoft, Hexagon, Trimetari consulting, TBS software, CSoft companies.
