On April 11, 2023, Mr. Alexey Kononeko was appointed Vice President of ASE JSC – Project Director for El-Dabaa NPP construction project in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Mr. Alexander Lokshin, First Deputy Director General for Nuclear Energy of Rosatom State Corporation, President of ASE JSC introduced the new project director to the team at the NPP construction site and to the Owner - NPPA. Mr. Lokshin also pointed out that Alexey Kononenko has many years of experience in the field of construction of nuclear facilities, has proven himself as a competent construction specialist and effective manager, and wished him success in the implementation of the ambitious industry project.
Mr. Kononenko was born on May 28, 1979, in Krasnodar. In 2004, he graduated from the oil, gas and power engineering faculty of Kuban State Technological University with the qualification of power engineer.
From 2003 to 2015, Mr. Kononenko worked in ElektroSevKavMontazh Joint-Stock Corporation, LLC. He worked his way up from CIW supervisor, site supervisor, head of production area for installation of electrical equipment, chief engineer to Director of Volgodonsk Division of Electrical Installation Works.
Mr. Kononenko was in charge of performance of construction and electrical installation works during implementation of nuclear and thermal power facilities in RF and abroad: Kalinin NPP (Units 3, 4), Bushehr-1 NPP, Beloyarsk NPP (unit 4), Leningrad NPP-2 (Unit 1), Rosatom NPP (Units 2, 3).
From 2015, Mr. Kononenko was Director for construction of Rostov NPP – Director of Volgodonsk Branch Office of ASE JSC during the construction of Unit 4. In 2018, after Unit 4 of Rostov NPP had been into operation ahead of schedule, Mr. Kononenko was appointed Director for construction of Belarus NPP Units 1 and 2.
Mr. Kononenko received Rosatom State Corporation award - Order for Merit in the Development of the Nuclear Industry, 1st and 2nd Degrees, Honorable Builder award of the Nuclear Industry, a certificate of honor of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, Medal for Merit in the Development of Nuclear Power by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation. Mr. Kononenko is winner of Man of the Year - 2018 competition of Rosatom State Corporation in the “Victory of the Year” nomination, as well as winner of Rosatom State Corporation competition in 2020 in nomination “The best RPS project” aimed at reducing the time period of NPP construction.
