Meeting of Joint Coordination Committee for Kudankulam NPP construction held in India

On March 17, 2023, the second meeting of the Russian-Indian Joint Coordination Committee for Kudankulam NPP construction (the Republic of India, the general designer and general contractor is Rosatom State Corporation Engineering Division) was held in India.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Alexander Lokshin, First Deputy Director General for Nuclear Energy of Rosatom State Corporation - President of ASE JSC, and Mr. Bhuwan Chandra Pathak, Chairman and Managing Director of Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (NPCIL).

The event was attended by representatives of the Engineering and Machine Building Divisions of Rosatom State Corporation, the Russian industry, particularly, the management of Power Machines JSC, representatives of NPCIL and the Department of Atomic Energy of the Government of India.

Participants of the Committee shared the experience gained during the construction of NPP of the Russian design, discussed issues of the equipment supply and the most critical points for ramping up both the construction and erection works and development of working design documentation.

“We are closely cooperating with our Indian colleagues and sharing the best Russian practices related to hi-tech works, optimization of construction processes, implementation of new technologies. All of this allows us to maintain the partnership and friendly relations facilitating the successful development of our joint project for the construction of Kudankulam NPP”, said Mr. Alexander Lokshin, First Deputy Director General for Nuclear Energy of Rosatom State Corporation and President of ASE JSC.

The main meeting was preceded by a week-long pre-session of meetings in working groups on issues related to the construction of all stages of Kudankulam NPP.

Russia is consistently developing international trade and economic relations, focusing on cooperation with friendly countries. Despite external restrictions, the domestic economy is growing its export potential and supplies goods, services and raw materials all over the world. Implementation of major international projects in the energy sector is being continued. Rosatom and its enterprises are taking an active part in this work.
