The second stage of TEAM-Juniors, Rosatom State Corporation’s educational online project, has started in the Engineering Design Industry Center of Competence. Its participants are more than 700 high school students from Belarus, Egypt, Turkey and Russia, including the Lugansk People’s Republic, who submitted applications and passed an interview.
The TEAM-Juniors project for occupational guidance of schoolchildren from grades 8-11 is aimed at acquiring key engineering knowledge and development of basic skills in information modeling of buildings on the basis of Russian software. It was organized by Atomenergoproekt JSC (a part of Rosatom State Corporation Engineering Division), St. Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (SPBGASU) and Nizhny Novgorod State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (NNGASU).
The educational project is scheduled to last six months and consists of 50 online classes given by university teachers and experts from companies that arranged for the course. The key points of the second stage are additional opportunities for admission to universities being the project partners and visits to the nuclear industry enterprises.
“The school project TEAM-Juniors logically followed the ‘adult’ educational course BIM-Management”, noted Alexey Agafonov, Director for Support and Development of Design Production of Atomenergoproekt JSC, Head of the Engineering Design Industry Center of Competence of Rosatom State Corporation. “I am positive that participation in the projects related to acquisition of professional skills of a designer, which is one of the most in-demand jobs nowadays, will help the participants choose their path in life. It is highly likely that many of them will be our colleagues in the future. Speaking of the results of the first stage, two of our graduates have already become silver winners of the School League of the III International Construction Championship.”
