Representatives Rosatom State Corporation Engineering Division participated in the annual “Digital Industry of Industrial Russia” (DIIR) Conference that was held in Nizhny Novgorod on May 21-24.
The conference brought together 6.5 thousand participants from 77 regions of Russia; delegates from 14 countries presented their show-benches at the DIIR exhibition.
The plenary meeting “Technical Independence of Industrial Russia”, which was held on the first day of the conference, was attended by Mikhail Mishustin, Chairman of RF Government, and Alexey Likhachev, Director General of Rosatom State Corporation. Head of Rosatom demonstrated the prototype of National CAD/CAE-platform. This is software environment uniting digital solutions of Russian designers in the field of mathematic modeling and engineering analysis. It is expected that the introduction of the software will make it possible to reach a qualitatively new level of modeling.
At the session “Cluster of Energy Data in Data Economy”, which was held with the support of RF Ministry of Energy, Olga Tolstunova, Vice President for Digitalization and Information Technologies of ASE JSC, made presentation “Digital data of NPP Construction Projects”.
The discussion was attended by Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Eduard Sheremettsev, Vice President of Transneft Andrey Badalov, leaders of digitalization of SIBUR Holding PJSC, Gazprom Neft PJSC and Inter RAO PJSC .
The leaders of the country and the industry have set a course to increase the share of nuclear energy in the total energy balance from 20% to 25% in the coming years, so currently we are facing not only the external tasks for exporting nuclear power plants, but also an important internal task for modernization and construction of new power units. This includes the development of low-power reactors of the new type, and investments into new technical areas,” Olga Tolstunova said. - Currently, over 30 power units in 10 countries of the world are in the active stage of construction. This is a great challenge and a great trust of the country, and we are trying not only to maintain our global leadership in the construction of nuclear power plants, but also to ensure competitiveness of Rosatom’s proposals. Therefore, some time ago, the management decided to develop its own platform for managing the NPP construction projects – the MULTI-D platform.”
According to Olga Tolstunova, dozens of terabytes of data are created at the stage of NPP construction, and petabytes of data are generated at the stage of nuclear power plant operation . Each power unit consists of about 10 million components, and for each of them is necessary not only to collect and bring together all the information, but also to be able to manage this huge cluster of data so that the project does not exceed the contractual deadlines and costs. Therefore, the Engineering Division can supply a high-precision information model of the NPP, which contains the entire volume of data at the construction stage, allowing managing upgrading or repairing at the operational stage, also for the customers.
The session participants also discussed options for using artificial intelligence technologies and maximizing the effects of implementing the data-driven management approach (databased decision-making) in the power industry.
For reference:
“Digital Industry of Industrial Russia” is the most representative business event, which is one of the five largest events in the field of the digital economy of Russia. This year’s conference traditionally brought together the leading IT experts, as well as business, startup and scientific communities at a high international level.
