About 1000 children of employees of the engineering Division of State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom participated in the industry competition “Pupil of Rosatom: collect a portfolio of excellent marks!” and over 500 of them became the winners of the competition.
This year, which has been declared the Year of the Family in Russia, the Engineering Division invited schoolchildren and their parents from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Kurchatov, Volgodonsk, Desnogorsk and other Russian cities, as well as from Bangladesh, India and Belarus, to the new ATOM pavilion at Exhibition of Economic Achievements (VDNKh).
The winners of the project are schoolchildren with excellent marks in all the subjects. In addition to diligent studies, the contestants must demonstrate their knowledge in Olympiads, contests and festivals of various levels, as well as in industry-oriented events. The engineering division added its programs for different age groups. In the 2023-2024 season, primary school children prepared drawings “Postage Stamp - My Favorite City”, and middle school children made crossword puzzles dedicated to “Scientific Discoveries”. The novelty of the season was the competition of profiles designed in the “Resume” style.
According to the results of this year’s competition, 400 “excellent students” were awarded industry diplomas, 41 “good students” with one or two “grades four” in non-core disciplines were also awarded diplomas. Divisional certificate of merit were awarded to 35 young artists, 16 crossword compilers and 9 authors of profiles on the “Resume” topic.
“We have been participating in the project “Pupil of Rosatom” for several years, and it has always been very popular with the children of our employees. I think this is a good incentive for children to develop their skills and enhance their knowledge, they have a growing interest in the work of their parents, and we are sure that in a few years many of our young winners will join the big family of Rosatom, and, continuing the atomic dynasties, will create projects that determine the future of the country,” said Natalia Shafalovich, Vice-President for HR Personnel and Internal Communications of ASE JSC.
All the guests of the event received memorable gifts and took part in the AtomMove festival, which included engineering games and blitz quizzes on atomic topics. Alexander Ivanov, a famous blogger and author of the project “Chemistry is simple!” demonstrated his chemical show, the children also looked at the “Fixies” show and a bright performance by the participants of the Nuclear Kids project, who created a festive mood and a feeling of belonging to a friendly nuclear family. The holiday ended with a tour of the ATOM Museum.
