On September 7, the Science Festival was held in Minsk (Republic of Belarus). As part of the Festival, the Information Center for Atomic Energy (ICAE) of Minsk supported by Atomstroyexport JSC (Engineering Division of the Rosatom State Corporation) organized the ATOM TEAM scientific and educational program.
Rosatom has become a partner of the festival for the sixth time, inviting the central site guests to take part in intellectual competitions, master classes, fascinating lectures and popular science talk shows.
The main slogan of the Rosatom Engineering Division site consisting of three semantic zones, was the "Let's work!” appeal encouraging visitors to form in a few hours a comprehensive idea of Russian nuclear industry’s up-to-date achievements and development prospects of this industry and the related ones in the coming decades. Using their mind, hands and being as part of a team, the guests of the site supported by Rosatom scientists and scientific experts learned about breakthrough research and developments in a variety of fields: space, medicine, environment, robotics.
Dmitry Chermoshentsev introduced the participants to mysterious quantum technologies, the audience learned together with Sergei Solovyov why the whole world is discussing Russian plans to build low-power nuclear power plants today; at the same time, they discussed at Vladimir Surdin's lecture the prospects for using peaceful nuclear energy to study space.
The ATOM TEAM platform was attended by the First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Natalya Petkevich, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Academician Vladimir Gusakov, and the Minister of Education Andrey Ivanets.
An important part of the festival was also a competitive exhibition of developments by Belarusian scientists and students. "When you see so many young people presenting their scientific developments, and so many young people among the visitors interested in nuclear technologies and engineering sciences, it becomes obvious that we have a brighter and glittering future," commented Natalya Petkevich, noting the tight agenda of the main festival site program.
The scientific festival in Minsk is the largest scientific popular event taking place from 2028 and supported by the National Academy of Science of Belarus. Leading Russian, Belarusian and international scientific and educational centers, as well as technology companies are taking part in it. In 2024, apart from Rosatom, the Russian party was represented by the scientific and educational center "Sacred Embassy" of the Zaryadye Park, as well as the All-Russian festival "Science 0+".
