The opening of the IVth El-Dabaa NPP Sports Festival took place at the El-Dabaa NPP construction project in the Arab Republic of Egypt (the General Designer and the General Contractor – Rosatom State Corporation Engineering Division).
The solemn ceremony was attended by Mr. Alexey Kononenko, ASE JSC Vice-President - Director for El-Dabaa NPP construction project, and Eng. Khaled Atya Abdallah, El-Dabaa NPP Project Manager on behalf of Nuclear Power Plants Authority (NPPA). The opening was held to the strains of the anthems of Russia and Egypt, and also the “Egyptian Construction Project Anthem” has been heard at the ceremony for the first time performed by the creative team of the “Atomic Voice” project.
Traditionally, the Sports Festival started with a football opening match, in which the first symbolic kick off was made by Alexey Kononenko and Khaled Atya Abdallah.
The Sports Festival will be held during three weeks in 14 athletic disciplines, including two new ones - tennis and badminton. More than 500 people from 17 project companies will take part in this event.
