The Russia-Egypt cooperation on El-Dabaa NPP construction is based on the intergovernmental agreement for cooperation in the area of peaceful use of atomic energy (IGA) as of March 25, 2008.
On March 18, 2015, Rosatom State Corporation appointed JSC Rusatom Overseas (Rusatom Energo International) as a project integrator and JSC Atomstroyexport as a General contractor of NPP construction.
The project envisages construction of 4 power units equipped with VVER-1200.
On October 20, 2015 a contract was signed to perform preparatory engineering survey works for development of El-Dabaa design documentation.
