The first stage of the Tianwan NPP (TAES-1) include power units No.1 and 2, constructed on the turnkey basis, they have been operated since 2007.
In October 2009 the Rosatom State Corporation and the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) signed a protocol that stipulated their intention to develop cooperation in the area of construction of the NPP second stage (power units Nos. 3, 4). The general contract was signed in 2010 and entered in force in 2011.
The Russian party undertakes to develop the basic and detailed design of the Nuclear Island (NI) for TNPP Units 3, 4 and render associated services. JSC ASE bears the overall technical responsibility for the design of Units 3 and 4, interface management for the whole project and guarantees warranty obligations.
The general contract provides for commissioning of Unit 3 in February 2018, of Unit 4 — in December 2018. All the works are performed according to the schedule.
